Fajr Prayer
Time and Beginning
Fajr is prayed before sunrise during dawn, making it the first prayer of the day and a powerful source of discipline.
Steps of Wudu (Ablution)
Intention (Niyyah)
Start with the intention to purify for prayer.
Washing Hands
Wash hands up to wrists three times.
Rinsing Mouth
Rinse mouth three times.
Cleaning Nose
Sniff water into nose and blow out three times.
Washing Face
Wash face from forehead to chin and ear to ear three times.
Washing Arms
Wash right arm to elbow, then left arm, three times each.
Wiping Head
Wipe head from front to back once.
Cleaning Ears
Wipe inside and outside of ears with wet fingers.
Washing Feet
Wash right foot to ankle, then left foot, three times each.
Correct Posture & Recitation
Face Qibla, hands on chest. Recite Surah Al-Fatiha followed by another Surah.
Bend at the waist, hands on knees. Say "Subhana Rabbiyal Adhim" 3 times.
Kneel, touch forehead, nose, palms, knees, toes to ground. Say "Subhana Rabbiyal A'la".
- Allahu Akbar: "Allah is the Greatest"
- Bismillah: "In the name of Allah"
- Rabbana Lakal Hamd: "To You is due all praise"
- Assalamu Alaikum: "Peace and mercy of Allah"
