A third came and said:

“Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah.” The Prophet ﷺ replied: “Thirty rewards.”

The Hadith reveals that saying the full greeting boosts your reward. The more complete the greeting, the more barakah (blessing).

Saying “Salam” Casually

Although saying salam is fine, it’s not the authentic way people greet each other in Islam. Some people mention it casually each day. Still, when we meet someone with a real greeting, the full phrase is the proper way to say it.

The Prophet ﷺ never made his greeting shorter. His actions are always the best to follow.
